 1869 Choice Brilliant Proof or thereabouts but for a shallow intermittent reverse scrape that extends from the 'D' in United to the top right point of the shield. There is a delicate blush of pale lilac on either side. Luxurious cameo design elements embellish glowing deeply mirrored fields. Only light slide marks are evident at the central obverse. The Proof mintage of this date (a mere 600 pieces) is among the lowest such mintages of this With Motto Seated Dollar type.
