 1786 New Jersey Copper. Maris 14-J. Rahway Mint. 161.0 grains. Choice Extremely Fine, and probably finer. The Maris Obverse Plate coin. The obverse and reverse are a nice, smooth golden brown with a few areas on the reverse showing darker mahogany. The surfaces on both sides are only microgranular save for minor roughness around the reverse rim. Nice central sharpness, particularly on the obverse, with most of the horse's mane details visible. Very trivial rim incursions at the base of the obverse. Perfect die states.
