The cover bears the inscription 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Antietam Commemorative Half Dollar, identifying the Washington County Historical Society, Hagerstown, Maryland as the sponsor and lists nine Commemorative Coin Committee members serving under Chairman J.R.R.
