 1862 Gem Brilliant Proof. A resplendent example of this scarce issue. Toned with bright yellow-green through the feathers and head, with matching traces on the reverse. The devices show strong frost when compared with the reflective fields and the surfaces are clean with only a hint of a speck on the lower head. Just 550 Proofs were struck of this date, most surviving in decidedly lower grades than seen here.
