New York. April 18, 1786. One Pound. No.3703. Signed in the style of Evert Bancker and Henry Remsen....New York. April 18, 1786. One Pound. No.3703. Signed in the style of Evert Bancker and Henry Remsen. Contemporary Counterfeit. Very Good with a one inch split at the left side. Hole canceled at the time probably to show this note was a counterfeit and was taken out of circulation. Printed on laid paper but not of the same texture as the note below. Written on the back ''John Oakley Huntington Collection'' in old style pen. A very rare counterfeit that should be hotly contested on the auction floor.

Lot # 318 Session 1
Hammer Price: $950.00
