 1884 Choice Brilliant Proof. This enticingly toned specimen displays rich olive-golden central toning. The peripheries offer a deeper blend of champagne-rose, sky-blue, and mauve iridescence. Some trivial underlying obverse facial disturbance does not impede the overall presentation of this lovely coin. There were 875 Proofs of this date delivered from an original production run of 920 pieces (the balance said by Breen to have been melted).
