1787 Connecticut copper. MBL. Horned bust. M.4-L. R-1. Extremely Fine. 105.4 gns. Small planchet,...1787 Connecticut copper. MBL. Horned bust. M.4-L. R-1. Extremely Fine. 105.4 gns. Small planchet, 27.2 mm. Lighter brown in color on both sides. Quite a bit rougher in appearance than the first, a few light marks noted particularly on the obverse. Retained in the collection as a duplicate to illustrate the more advanced state of the obverse break, here a heavy spike arising from the effigy's chest, running upwards in the field to end below C. Clear incuse clash marks in the upper left field between the effigy's forehead and 'R'.

Pedigree unrecorded.
