1786 Connecticut copper. MBL. M.4.2-R. R-6. Fine. 135.2 gns. Dark steel gray and brown on both sides. Obverse and reverse fields granular, striated diagonally down from the upper right to the lower left on the front and upper left to lower right on the back. Some areas rough, particularly around the obverse and reverse rims. A very scarce variety and a specimen with claims to challenge the first Perkins specimen and definitely nicer than the second and third.
Ex David Proskey on February 22, 1904. Square collector's ticket accompanies the lot.
