Claudius, 41-54 A.D. Sestertius, 50-54 A.D. Laureate head r. Rv. Spes advancing l. holding flower and raising robe by hem. Countermarked under Nero on reverse within rectangular punch: NCAPP (Nero Caesar Augustus and either Probavit, approved for further circulation, or Populo Romano, the People of Rome), the last 'P' in error for 'R'. RIC 115. Light Tiber tone over very minor pitting. Very Fine. (Est. $250-$350)
