1795 LM.8 (R-3). Star one between curl two and three, no berries under left wing. A well struck Extremely Fine. Honest and entirely original with dark gray in the fields and lighter gray on the devices. There are two or three ancient obverse scratches which have resulted in a slight wave in the planchet. The most apparent scratch extends down from Liberty's ear to her truncation, very close to her hair. Another fainter scratch crosses the fourteenth star and extends into the field toward Liberty's neck. A small void is found touching the upper part of the final star. On the reverse, a couple of very short scrapes are found on the lower right side of the eagle's breast. No adjustment marks or other problems. Early die state with a faint die crack from the 'Y' in LIBERTY to Liberty's nose, and well struck.
