 1858 Large Letters, High Leaves. Snow PR1. Choice Brilliant Proof. A strike of near perfection has brought out the most intricate details in the flying eagle and wreath designs, which stand out boldly against fully mirrored fields on both sides. Surfaces exhibit splashes of iridescent rose, amber and gold toning, with the golden-brown of the copper-nickel dominating the overall appeal of this rare Proof Flying Eagle Cent. Snow estimates a mintage of 100 pieces, with about half surviving for us to collect 150 years later. The Snow PR1 is the only die pairing known among Proofs of the Large Letters type.
