1799 B.12b (R-3). Choice Very Fine. A wonderfully smooth, evenly struck coin. Likely ever so gently cleaned very long ago, not at all to its detriment. Darkly toned with gray dominating with a blush of lilac in the fields. No surface problems from contact, and the rims are excellent. This later die state has complex die cracks up through the date, and die sinking from star nine to close to Liberty's bust along an arcing crack through the field.
Ex Kagin's ANA Sale, August 1983, lot 2451.
