Différents Cinquefoil (Jean Warin at Monnaie du Louvre, 1641-1645) and Star. Crowned shield and royal titles. Rv. Arabesque cross with lis at tips, Cinquefoil divides Latin motto CHRISTVS . REGNAT. VINC. ET IMP., Christ Reigns, Conquers, Commands. Gad.55, Fr.398, KM 123 but unlisted date. This coin shows a smaller diameter than the contemporary hammered Gold of similar design, and was described by Victor Gadoury as frappé de Moulin (type de Warin), module réduit, flan et légendes réguliers, struck by Moulin, (Jean) Warin type with reduced size, planchet and legends regular. In effect this is an early machine-struck coin and is of the greatest historical interest and rarity. Brilliant Uncirculated. (Est. $3,500-$4,500)
