1807 O.111 (R-6). Left base of '1' missing. 50 over 20. Extremely Fine. This coin is from the Early Die State of this die pairing with the die crack from chin to chest that becomes the famed ''Bearded Goddess'' wholly absent. Surfaces display abundant friction and light marks and scratches in the fields, without which this coin probably would have been a full AU. The protected areas in and around the devices and legends display definite prooflike lustre, while the peripheries of both obverse and reverse boast iriscent album toning. The reverse exhibits mottled graphite gray toning that is somewhat gritty in texture. Hermann in his auction study comments that this very rare die state is probably an R-7+; even with the addition of this and the below specimen to the census, it is still a solid R-7.
