Bare head l. of Napoleon's younger brother as King of Holland. Rv. Quartered Arms of Netherlands and Bonaparte. Erected in 1806, the Kingdom of Holland was bestowed on the unwilling Louis, spouse of Hortense de Beauharnais and father of the future Emperor Napoleon III. Infuriated by his brother's unexpected independence, Napoleon annexed Holland outright in 1810. Fr.322, KM 38. Exceptionally sharply struck with prooflike flash. Brilliant Uncirculated.
