1793 S.10 (R-4). Injured rim, period after legend. Vine & Bars Edge. Net Very Fine-25. Sharpness of a solid Extremely Fine-40 or better, but reduced because of moderate surface porosity. Deep olive surfaces reveal a sharp, short scratch from Liberty's neck into the right field below her chin. Further identifiable by a tiny edge nick on the obverse at approximately 10:00. A later die state with the diagnostic injured rim on the obverse, and rim cud above 'NITE' on the reverse. While not within the Condition Census for the variety, this is a memorable example which shows most of the die definition originally imparted. In fact, most collectors would certainly find this example hard to improve upon for both date and variety.
