1877 50¢. Judd 1524 (Low R-7). Silver, RE. Brilliant Proof, virtually Choice. This distinctive obverse is highlighted by William Barber's large and somewhat wind-blown Liberty facing left in a circle of stars. The reverse presents an eagle on shield within an ornate ''garter'' bearing the national mottoes in Old English lettering. Fields are boldly reflective, the obverse shows copper-gold in the hair over the ear. Fields hairlined from a cleaning of the kind favored by Egypt's germ-phobic King Farouk. With a ticket announcing, This Coin Is From the PALACE COLLECTION of Former KING FAROUK of Egypt.
