Gleaming gold lustre drenches both sides of this forcefully struck late date example. This coin's reverse lustre is especially powerful and uniform. Here is a coin that is one of the finest available to collectors, as many of the 31 auction specimens listed by Dannreuther and Garrett were in distinctly lower grades of preservation. One of only 4,160 struck just before abandonment of the Capped Bust design. Here is another outstanding example that would be hard to match for quality and rarity.

From the Lawrence C. Licht Collection.
