Smooth, orange-gold toning dominates this specimen featuring coppery mint frost in the most protected areas of the devices and legends. Very well struck and a highly pleasing survivor of just 3,530 business strikes produced in this Civil War year. This Philadelphia mint issue is notoriously rare, with only about two dozen auction appearances in the last decade or so.
