1652 Pine Tree Shilling. Large Planchet. Backwards N. Noe 4. About Uncirculated. 69.5 gns. R-4....1652 Pine Tree Shilling. Large Planchet. Backwards N. Noe 4. About Uncirculated. 69.5 gns. R-4. Attractive battleship gray surfaces display paler highlights. Both sides are well centered, but the tops of some letters are missing due to the oblong shape of the planchet. There is a slight wave to the flan, a result of being produced by rocker dies. The surfaces are smooth and reflective. This is a wonderful example that is far superior in quality to most Massachusetts silver coinage found. PCGS AU53.
