1915'S' $50.00. Round. Panama-Pacific Exposition. Brilliant Uncirculated, nearly fully Choice. This massive Gold coin displays a wonderfully sharp strike, and its lustre is rich and full. Systematic examination and enough effort reveal a couple of very inconspicuous hairlines. Zerbe planned a mintage of 3,000 pieces, but for some unknown reason, only 483 round examples were actually sold, all others melted. Here is a commemorative that will reward the closest examination.
Ex Christie's Auction, June 1994, part of lot 398.
