1841'O' Extremely Fine or better. Charming, green-gold surfaces define this wonderful specimen of this first New Orleans issued Liberty Head Eagle. A glass reveals hints of glowing mint frost surrounding the stars and devices, and the fields are remarkably free of the often disfiguring bagmarks that plague this rare issue. A single severe surface mark fortunately remains well hidden at Miss Liberty's jawline, and a single copper mark is noted below the eagle's wing on the reverse. Here is a very appealing specimen of less than 100 probable survivors of an issue of just 2,500 pieces.
