1754. Bust right signed R. filius/busy beavers. Raymond Y, similar; Br.514. Silver. Very Fine. 94.6 gns. 28.5 mm. Planchet thickness 0.9 - 1.0 mm. Reeded edge. Pale silver gray in color on both sides with patches of iridescent rose and pale blue. The obverse die quite rusty and beginning to fail. As described by Mr. Ford in his notes on this piece ''Very similar to W.W.C. Wilson Cat. (1925) Obv. 'Y', but lacks berry below stem of final leaf in wreath, stop following final S lower and closer to bust, script 'R. FILIUS' (J.C. Roettiers) below curl level and more distant from bust.'' The Raymond plate attributions require some revision.
