1836 Gobrecht Dollar. Name on Base. Eagle Flying Amid Stars. Judd 60. Silver, Plain Edge. Die Alignment IV. Restrike. Choice Brilliant Proof, with claims to a higher grade. Crisply struck devices are intricately detailed, revealing Christian Gobrecht's seated Liberty and flying eagle designs at their very best, before the design was ''dumbed down'' for use on the circulating Silver Dollars, Half Dollars, Quarters, Dimes and Half Dimes. Fields are quite reflective and are richly toned in silver-gold and steely gray toning on both obverse and reverse. Here is a very attractive specimen that is in a very conservatively grade, early general PCGS encapsulation. PCGS PR63.
