 25¢ 1899 Superb Gem Brilliant Proof. Cameo devices and well mirrored fields are awash in a blend of lavender-rose, russet, and golden iridescence. An assertive attempt to detect surface flaws under magnification on this marvelous coin will be essentially fruitless as there are little if any to be seen. If we were forced to place criticism of any kind on this lovely coin, we would state that the toning at the lower reverse is a bit deeper than ideal, however this jewel certainly remains at the extreme upper end of the grade range for the known Proof examples of this date!
