 1798 JR-4 (R-3). Medium 8, Small 7, 5 Berries. Brilliant Uncirculated with claims to Choice. A splendid, well centered strike boasts remarkably complete detail. Bold flashing silver bears a wisp of clearest peripheral gold to showcase the crisply struck stars, lettering and clouds over the eagle. High magnification reveals a faint field mark to the right of the bust, but this remarkable coin is well positioned in any listing of finest known examples of its variety. In terms of strike and visual appeal it compares very favorably to the Lovejoy coin of similar grade sold by Stack's in October 1990.
