NEW YORK. Bank of Commerce. $5.00 (20). A. City of New York. May 4, '18'45. Rawdon, Wright, Hatch....NEW YORK. Bank of Commerce. $5.00 (20). A. City of New York. May 4, '18'45. Rawdon, Wright, Hatch. A spurious/altered type. Eagle on rock at the top center. Old train left and ship at the right. Registration stamp on the backs. Haxby NY-1534 A5. Fully signed and issued. Though called an 'altered note', these are really spurious as the title is not quite identical. The source copied was the Painesville, OH Geuga Insurance Co. (Haxby AS-360 G8). Usually seen well worn, this is a very interesting accumulation of twenty notes. All About Uncirculated or Crisp Uncirculated. On spurious bills, we have not seen a group quite like this ever. 20 pieces.
