Lafayette Bank of the City of New York. $20.00. A. New York, NY. 1830's. India paper Proof by Rawdon,...Lafayette Bank of the City of New York. $20.00. A. New York, NY. 1830's. India paper Proof by Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Co. New-York. Lafayette standing in uniform, behind him a busy scene of mythological characters. Adjacent to him is column with 'Yorktown 1781' at the base. At the far left is a beehive and at the right a 'XX' counter. Haxby NY-1680 G12 SENC. A very rare title on New York City. Absolutely no data available for Haxby to describe the note. The bank failed and was only listed in the detectors during its short tenure of 1834-42. Some minor handling and difficult to see foxing. Choice. The first we have handled.
