The plates were used by Leggett, Keatinge & Ball for use by the Confederacy to adapt the 1861 Criswell Type 23 $10.00 notes. From the same plate the $5.00 note was adapted for use on the T-32 ''Blacksmith'' type. Back with ink stamped 'Redeemed by/Bank State New-York/AT PAR'. Some minor ink at the left end, but very crisp. Extremely Fine. Top grade for this historical type that is essential for a serious collection of Confederate type notes.
