
Mexican War Shield. National Association of Veterans. Silver. Choice Uncirculated. Holed for wearing. 43.9 x 40.9 mm. Named on the back G.W.M.L. 1st N.Y.V. 1846-7-8. As the preceding, a copy of the U.S. Mint style shield in reduced format silver. Whoever G.W.M.L. was, he would also have been entitled to one of the City of New York Mexican War medals (although the roster of those does not reveal his identity).
