KANSAS. Union Military Scrip. Topeka. June 1, 1867. Complete denomination set of $1.00, $5.00, $10.00, $20.00, $50.00, and $100.00. All well vignetted notes engraved by Continental Bank Note Co. All signed and issued. Several use patriotic vignettes appropriate to the title. Each with the State Arms. Whitfield 421, 422, 423, 424, 425, and 426. The scrip was issued to pay against claims arising from the Indian campaign of 1864 under General Curtis and the ''Price Raid'' (that is the Confederate invasion, also in 1864). Each with a small POC except the $100.00. All Extremely Fine or so, the last is Choice About Uncirculated. A well matched set for grade and attractive. 6 pieces.
