State of Pennsylvania. June 1, 1780 Act. Eight Dollars. No.3753. Signed by R.[obert] Cather and Wister; countersigned on the back by R.[ichard] Bache. Printed on thin paper, watermarked 'CONFEDE/RATION'. Standard size, designs and imprint as used on Maryland and other State issued ''Guaranteed'' notes. Without red interest payable stamping on face. Like the New York Guaranteed bills, this is a very rare series. There were 25,000 notes of each denomination authorized. The sixth of seven denominations on the series in this sale. Not often offered in any grade. This is another crisp and natural note.
Clean surfaces, but lightly printed compared to the other Pennsylvania 1780 Guaranteed notes in the Ford-Boyd Collection. Extremely Fine Plus. Light vertical bending and some handling. The mica glitters on the face as a new note. As stated, the note is slightly ''dull'' as struck from the plate. Closely margined at the left end and with a small ink smear in the right border cut.
Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
