Continental Congress. September 26, 1778 Resolution. Fifty Dollars. No.243187. Signed by John Graff...Continental Congress. September 26, 1778 Resolution. Fifty Dollars. No.243187. Signed by John Graff and Jacob Masoner. Thirteen level stepped pyramid for the strength and unity of the thirteen states, motto PERRENIS (Everlasting). New nature print back. Printed on very thin paper stock. Choice Crisp Uncirculated. Boldly embossed emblem to the back and widely margined. There is a slight shave in at the wide bottom left corner. Clean surfaced and handsome; Sixty Dollars. No.74029. Signed by L.[ewis] Farmer and J.[oseph] Walter. The Earth floats in free space, but looks more like a gyroscope, DEUS REGNAT EXULTET TERRA (''God reigns, let the Earth rejoice'' from Psalm 97). New nature print back. Printed on thicker paper stock. Crisp Uncirculated. Lightly printed as often seen, but clean and bright. Mostly well margined, though tight at the bottom right end. Light back hinge remnant and petty ink specks from sheet stacking. Classical designs and a choice pairing. 2 pieces.

The first uses of $50 and $60 denomination notes in the Continental Currency series. These motifs, along with other added denominations in the January 14, 1779 Resolution, were developed by Francis Hopkinson as well as the higher denominations used on the January 14, 1779 Resolution.
