Continental Congress. April 11, 1778 Yorktown Issue. Thirty Dollars. No.38650. Signed by Hardy and Ja.[mes] Ross. Motif and motto as used on the May 10 1775 Session, November 29 1775 Resolution, February 17 1776, May 9 1776, July 22 1776, November 2 1776, February 26 1777, and May 20 1777 notes. Nature print back design instead of the dual vignette type. A very sharp and superior note. The paper surfaces are virtually immaculate and the embossing of the face emblem to the back has exceptional depth and clarity.
Choice Almost Uncirculated and virtually Choice Uncirculated. However, the upper left corner tip is bent and there is a short strip of handling on the bottom left edge. Both require scrutiny to observe as the note presents itself with tremendous impact. With the exception of some tightness at the bottom left end, the margins are very wide for the issue. Small back spot near the imprint from burned through ink from the left signature. One of the most appealing Yorktown notes we have seen.
