Signed by Phil.[lip] Johnson and John Tazewell; countersigned on back by Robert Carter Nicholas. Printed on laid paper, nearly complete and visible 'VIRGINIA' watermark across center. Standard large format ''Ashby'' note size, approximately 165mm by 120mm. Uniface, indented bill design and style like the 1773 large format notes. Arms at top over shaded block with denomination, ornate indent at left signed 'Ashby sculp. London'. About Extremely Fine. Vertical quarter folds, lower left diagonal fold, and handling. Lightly toned with some scattered foxing at the right end. A sharp note.
