South Carolina. Lawful Money of April 10, 1778. Thirty Shillings. Hope and Anchor Vignette. No.625. Signed by Tho.[mas] Radcliffe Jun. [in blue ink] and J.[onathan] Sarrazin. Printed on laid paper. Uniface, standard size, approximately 95mm by 60mm. Floral detail at the left face, ornate seal vignette at the lower right. The highest denomination on the Act and printed on the ''other'' sheet type that is much scarcer than the low denomination sheet. Only 14,533 were authorized. Since these were printed from the higher denomination sheet, that would indicate notes were printed and destroyed or the denomination on the plate may have been ''masked'' out and not printed.
Technically Extremely Fine or so. The paper is not folded, but a vertical paper ripple as made. Toned with thinning at the top center and a rounded upper left corner. An underrated type and hard to find when you need one.
Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
