South Carolina. March 6, 1776 Resolve. Twenty Five Pounds.  Flourishing Tree and Fallen Tree Vignette....South Carolina. March 6, 1776 Resolve. Twenty Five Pounds. Flourishing Tree and Fallen Tree Vignette. MELIOREM LAPSA LOCAVIT. No.2667. Signed by Motte, Savage, Huger and William Parker [vertically, to the right]. Printed on white laid paper. Standard size, approximately 120mm by 80mm. Uniface, elaborate border cuts. Vignette and motto at lower right. Another note with excellent symbolism seen on Colonial paper currency in the 1776-1777 years. There were 5,200 notes printed. Like the Fifteen Pound notes, these are generally torn, split, frayed and/or repaired.

Pleasing and bright. Fine to Very Fine. Heavy vertical fold with a top split repaired on the back and very tiny juncture hole at bottom center. Other light folds seen from the back with soiling. Tiny back stain seen slightly to the face near the vignette. Closely margined at the right.
