State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. September 5, 1776. Six Dollars. No.?[875?, faded]. Signed by Congdon, Dexter and Greene. Printed on thick white paper. 71mm by 95mm. Printed on both sides, standard Rhode Island style. Within three border cuts are typeset texts, Rhode Island seal at left, signatures at bottom. Ornamental pattern back from edge to edge, 'Six Dollars' at center. Imprint 'PROVIDENCE: Printed by John Carter. 1776.'. Another rare high denomination note that is unpriced in the Newman reference. There were also only 600 notes authorized. As such, rare in any grade. An attractive note. About Very Fine. Vertical quarter folds with the center creased. Other perimeter handling and soiling. A few pinholes. Still crisp and fairly sharp.
Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
