Colony of Rhode Island. March 18, 1776. Thirty Shillings. No.120. Signed by Wanton, Dexter and Arnold. Printed on thin paper. 71mm by 103mm. Printed on both sides, standard Rhode Island style. Within three border cuts are typeset texts, Rhode Island seal at left, signatures at bottom. Ornamental pattern back from edge to edge, 'Thirty/Shillings' at center. Imprint 'Printed by JOHN CARTER'. There were also 3,000 notes printed of this note type.
A second Thirty Shillings from this issue, but not signed by Ellery. However, still an excellent and well above average type note from this series. Solid and crisp. About Extremely Fine. Light crease and bottom corner fold. Minor handling. Wide and even margins are joined by well printed surfaces. A beauty and a perfect type note to represent the Act. Why have a $200 Good note on the type when this note is nearly superb and will likely be overlooked compared to many other notes in this sale.
