Pennsylvania. April 29, 1780. Fifteen Shillings. No.9073[?, partially faint in red]. Signed by ?[very faint, in red] and J.[ohn] Miller. Printed on coarse paper watermarked 'PENNSYL/VANIA'. Thinner paper than used on the Five Shillings and Ten Shillings above. Traditional Pennsylvania horizontal format. 88mm by 68mm. Face border cuts on four sides, text with interest statement and 'redeemed.. in Silver Dollars' in center, ..'by Sale of Land..' Commonwealth Seal at lower left. Newly designed nature print back. Imprint 'Printed by John Dunlap'.
An amazing third denomination from this rare and late series on Pennsylvania. Like the Five and Ten Shillings, there were only 8,696 authorized with the majority redeemed. Certainly, an unprecedented partial set of notes. Very Good to Fine. Quarter folded, multifolds and soft. Fully intact with a bright face. The back with some minor soiling and a spot near the left edge.
