State of North Carolina. May 10, 1780 Act. One Hundred Dollars. Fortis cadere cedere non potest. No.227....State of North Carolina. May 10, 1780 Act. One Hundred Dollars. Fortis cadere cedere non potest. No.227. Signed by Caron and Coore. Printed on thin laid paper. Typeset face with ornamental borders. Simple pattern back, similar to 1778 notes, with imprint 'Printed by JA. DAVIS, 1780'. The only motto type used with a printing of ''5,000 plus''. How many above requires The Calculus to compute. Bright and vivid with exceptional eye appeal. Easily, one of the finest known, if not at the top.

A true blazer, but accurately Choice About Uncirculated. A bit of a crime to call it that. However, there is upper corner left corner handling heavy enough to knock it from perfect status. Superbly embossed, printed and centered on both sides. Light Raymond pencil code on the back. Clearly not a hoard note and worth giant multiples of Very Fine catalogue value.

Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate; Wayte Raymond.
