 North Carolina Currency. April 2, 1776 Halifax Issue. Four Dollars. Bee Vignette. No.349. Signed by Webb, Haywood, Sumner and Williams. Printed on laid paper with visible palisade (J. Whatman) watermark. A nearly complete watermark with lion wielding a scimitar and holding arrows. Denomination outlined in shaded left border cut and outlined in white vine in right shaded border cut. There were two different $4 types with 10,000 printed of each. A very choice note. Boldly printed, excellent paper quality and super crisp.
About Extremely Fine. A light vertical fold, a shorter fold adjacent to it, a long corner fold and some other light handling. The margins are fairly close, but mostly even and full. The lower right corner is trimmed across the double line. Period pen endorsed on the back edge. A superb example of this note with a superior watermark.
