North Carolina Currency. April 2, 1776 Halifax Issue. Half a Dollar. Crow and Pitcher Vignette. No.7257....North Carolina Currency. April 2, 1776 Halifax Issue. Half a Dollar. Crow and Pitcher Vignette. No.7257. Signed by Haywood and Webb. Printed on laid paper. Coil (a snake with no head?) around a long staff at the top and denomination at the left. This is printed on a very fine laid paper and is one of the more frequently seen types in our experience. A second example and not as deeply inked as the above Roper note. Still, a sharp and even impression. Fine to Very Fine due to multifolds. However, still quite crisp and fairly bright. Top and bottom splits are deftly patched from the back with stamp hinges. Well margined with a full sheet margin at the bottom. Penciled '10-' on upper right back corner. Lovely for the type.

Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
