North Carolina Currency. April 2, 1776 Halifax Issue. Half a Dollar.  North American Bear Vignette....North Carolina Currency. April 2, 1776 Halifax Issue. Half a Dollar. North American Bear Vignette. No.864. Signed by Haywood and Webb. Printed on laid paper. Banner at top and denomination at the left. This type has the vignette title 'American Bear' under the vignette. There were also eight different vignettes used for the $1/2 series. Each had a printage of 12,500 notes for a total of $50,000 from the authorization. An excellent note, though the printing is moderately light, but still clear. Excellent paper quality. Fine Plus. Quarter folded and other handling. Trimmed closely at the right and a left edge split. Clarke pencil code on back (but no ticket included).
