North Carolina Currency. April 2, 1776 Halifax Issue. One Eighth of a Dollar.  Snake Biting Sword...North Carolina Currency. April 2, 1776 Halifax Issue. One Eighth of a Dollar. Snake Biting Sword in Scabbard Vignette. No.955. Signed by Hill and Alston. Printed on laid paper. Small format size. Vine border at left and ornaments at right. A second example of this great vignette type note and a scarcer low denomination notes. Printed from an earlier and stronger plate state compared to the previous notes. About Very Fine. Vertical crease, diagonal fold, corner crease and handling. Lightly toned overall. Even margins with strongly printed plate lines. Several short edge splits with one longer one on the bottom of the crease. Great eye appeal due to the strong printing quality.
