Printed on laid paper (similar to December 1771 Act paper type). 110mm by 73mm. Uniface, ornate left end border, various fonts with 'No. Carolina Currency' in Gothic type, and vignette at lower left. Vignette of Governor Tryon's Palace at Newbern. Printed from engraved plates with no imprint. A superb vignette type from this rare series of notes for any example. Fine to Very Fine. A beautiful note that should be forgiven a common flaw to the series as it is split vertically and paper strip repaired from the back like the above Four Dollars. Both halves still crisp with light folds and handling. Central pinholes and narrow margins. Boyd pencil code ''iry'' on the back and lower right back pencil notation in perhaps Chapman's hand. An ornate North Carolina type and very desirable.
