Printed on laid paper (similar to December 1771 Act paper type). 112mm by 75mm. Uniface, ornate left end border, various fonts with 'North Carolina Currency' in Gothic type, and vignette at lower left. Hermes (Mercury) holding banner 12 united Colonies in oval vignette. Printed from engraved plates with no imprint. A second denomination from this rare series of notes for any denomination. This note is riveting and beautiful. A wonderful design and presentation and in strong grade. Choice Very Fine. A bright and vivid note. The technical grade does little justice to this example that looks nearly new at first glance. Several vertical folds with a few bunched up adjacent to each other in the center. A strong side crease at the right and handling. Broad margins with a small ''tail'' off the lower right corner. Boyd pencil code ''ryx'' on the back. Quite stunning and undervalued compared to available 1771 vignetted note types.

Note that there are '12 Colonies' referenced due to the exclusion of Georgia. The Georgia representative was not at the Continental Congress at the time of this note issue.
