Colony of New York. September 2, 1775. One Dollar. No.1727. Signed by Wm. Demming and Evert Bancker...Colony of New York. September 2, 1775. One Dollar. No.1727. Signed by Wm. Demming and Evert Bancker [in red, very faint]. Printed on thick stock. Ornate border cuts, New York Arms right. Printed back, circular medallion with sheaf of wheat, motto ACERVUS E PARVIS GRANDIS. Imprint 'Printed by John Holt, in the Year M, DCC, LXXV'. The red signature is quite faint. Almost Uncirculated, and essentially a mishandled new note. The upper corners are handled, otherwise an uncreased and sharp example. Excellent for the type and series.

There were 10,000 $1 notes printed as opposed to only 5,000 notes of the other five denominations.
