Colony of New York. September 2, 1775. One Dollar. No.1727. Signed by Wm. Demming and Evert Bancker [in red, very faint]. Printed on thick stock. Ornate border cuts, New York Arms right. Printed back, circular medallion with sheaf of wheat, motto ACERVUS E PARVIS GRANDIS. Imprint 'Printed by John Holt, in the Year M, DCC, LXXV'. The red signature is quite faint. Almost Uncirculated, and essentially a mishandled new note. The upper corners are handled, otherwise an uncreased and sharp example. Excellent for the type and series.
Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
There were 10,000 $1 notes printed as opposed to only 5,000 notes of the other five denominations.
