City and County of Albany. June 22, 1775. Ten Shillings. No.4. Signed by Abraham Yates, Jr. [in red,...City and County of Albany. June 22, 1775. Ten Shillings. No.4. Signed by Abraham Yates, Jr. [in red, fading], Jacob Lansing, Jr. and Jacob C. Ten Eyck. Printed on laid paper. Wide format. Uniface, typeset note with left end flourish with ornamental borders. The Newman Plate Note, so illustrated on page 237 of the fourth edition. A bright and vivid example, sharply printed and bold.

Very Fine with a vertical split down the center. This is backed with an old postage stamp selvege. From the face, the note is exceptional and presents great eye appeal. We would not be surprised if this is the finest known on the series and date. An important note for Colonial specialists and an exceptionally early obsolete private scrip note on New York.

Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
