State of New Jersey. December 20, 1783 Act. Seven Shillings and Six Pence or One Dollar. No.3424. Signed by Ewing and Mott. Printed on coarse stock. Size similar to 1781 issue. Standard designs, State seal on face. Leaf design on back and date '1784'. Trenton printed by Isaac Collins. A third denomination on this rarely seen series that was withdrawn rapidly with few surviving notes of any type. Not represented in the 1993 DuPont sale and significant as a One Dollar denominated note. The English equivalent is only in the text on the face.
A superior note and choice for the series. Fine for the paper type. Folded into eighths with only some minor splits seen when held to light. Both left corners are lightly creased. Aged overall with moderate soiling. The back is fairly clean. Technical grade means little as this is one of very few notes known on the entire Act date. Truly, a very important note on New Jersey and an awesome opportunity.
